Pre-Certification & Referrals

If there is an emergency and you take your child to the emergency room, you must notify our office within 24 hours or on the next working day if your plan requires pre-certification. This must be done during regular working hours. Failure to do so may result in a reduction of insurance payment by your insurance company.

If the provider you are seeing recommends that your child see a specialist, you must obtain a referral from our referral department. Because it is difficult to obtain approval from some insurance companies, please allow one week for a referral. Once you make an appointment with a specialist, you must contact us as soon as you make the appointment so that we may obtain a referral. We will need the name of the doctor that your child is seeing, the date of the appointment, and the specialist’s phone number and fax number. Please do not expect us to get same day referrals for you, as this is usually impossible.
